Math 8

Nija Box-Sphere
Good afternoon, today I would like to tell you about a bug called Nija Box-Sphere. You will now get to learn a little about Nija.

Well first off, Nija is a pirate-ninja. Her only enemies that can defeat her are squirrels. She is practiced in the ancient art of sword-fighting and hand-to-hand combat. She has a special power that enables her to carry a sword even though she is tiny. Nija’s wings are made of a material that is fireproof and bulletproof. She usually flies at about 250 miles an hour, but that’s just on slow days. And I thought you should know that she is the last of her kind, squirrels killed them all.

Now onto her shape, she has a spherical head that allows her to see her enemies coming at her from every direction. Her rectangular body acts as a source of protection to the following: cold, heat, bullets, swords, and bug-spray. She has tiny legs and so they don’t interfere with her flying. Her wings are very powerful and are shaped with ridges so that she can catch wind currents and fly faster and higher. She cannot run at all or swim because has such short legs.

Nija lives in the Bermuda Triangle. She lives in a palm tree, in a little nest thing made of pine straw and coconuts. Her diet consists of mainly chocolate, pecans, pickles, and orange juice, but she sometimes eats spinach.

Well, I will now tell you about Nija’s personality. She is very sweet unless you challenge her to a sword fight then you will lose. She loves a good book, but since she has short arms and legs, she can’t hold them up very good. She loves to laugh, and she laughs a lot, especially when someone or something thinks they can beat her in a sword-fight or in hand-to-hand combat.

That is all I got to observe about her until she had to fly off and fight a pirate-ninja human that thought he could beat her in a sword fight. I hope you have learned something interesting today. Please pass on her legacy to others and let her legend live on, because I caught her and now she is currently in my math classroom.

One Direction- The Cylinder Parasite Bug

BAM! One day, God created me- One Direction: The Cylinder Parasite Bug. Hello everyone my name is One Direction!(: I’m a Cylinder Parasite bug from Gatlinburg, Tennessee. I live in a small bug village in the Great Smokey Mountains. In the village, all the different kinds of bugs and I only eat a special kind of stew we make. We all move in different kinds of ways. Some of us fly, walk, crawl, or inch on our stomachs; I personally like to walk on all fours. When my type of species of bugs was made, we were made out of these things: a soda can, pipe cleaners, soda can tops, and google eyes. The soda can is used as our bodies, the pipe cleaners are used as our legs, and antennas, the soda can tops are our feet, and last but certainly not least, the google eyes are of course our eyes. All of the bugs made like us HATE rain, since we are made out of painted soda cans, we can’t get wet cause if we do, our paint will come off. When it comes to predators trying to make a snack out of us, we have a secret weapon, we can spit acid out into their eyes to blind them. We are thankful that God made us the way He made us- as a Cylinder Parasite Bug. Well I’ve told you my story and about my life so I guess I’ll be going now so bye!

And that’s the story of One Direction- The Cylinder Parasite Bug.

The End.

Geoids

It’s not always easy being a geometry bug. As a matter of fact, it’s hard. But at least my geometry bug helps human existence. Geoid is an interesting bug because it eats garbage. He is made up of cylinders and spheres. Even though he faces some challenges, he is still thorough in his job in nature.

Geoid was given his shapes for many special reasons. He has a cylindrical body so that our garbage can circulate easily. This feature also allows him to be quicker. He also has big eyes to see trash far away. This also helps to ward off predators. His antennas help him to smell the wonderful smell of your trash. His tail helps him to pick up trash. He uses his legs to crawl up trashcans and dumpsters.

Geoids are rare and usually only found around landfills. Geoids migrate from city to city, which takes about 1 year (they travel 10,000 miles at a time). Geoids never have a permanent settlement. They migrate all the time. For this reason you probably have never heard of them. You might wonder how Geoids reproduce. The answer is… they don’t. Trash people release new ones every 10-15 years. The average lifespan of a Geoid is 100 years. They live so long because they have no natural predators.

I know it sounds like Geoids have a blast, but they have a tough life. Their cylindrical bodies cause them to have trouble balancing. They also don’t have wings so they can’t fly from place to place.

I hope you enjoyed the life of a Geoid.

The Adventures of Cylinder Sam

One day there was a family, who lived in a small house in a mining town. The father was named Danny, the mother was named Debby, and their son was named Derek. Danny owned a small diamond mine. After collecting carts full of diamonds, he sold them to jewelry stores. One day when Danny was in the mine, he discovered a bug that had a green head, a blue fluffy body, and a yellow stinger. Danny took a closer look and discovered that the bug was stuck in a hole! Danny asked, “How did you get stuck in that hole?” The bug replied, “ My Antenna sensed diamonds nearby and so I went in to investigate.” “What is your name?” asked Danny. The bug replied, “ My name is Cylinder Sam, what is your name?” “ My name is Danny and I’ll try to help you out!” Cylinder Sam sat still as Danny pulled him out. “Thank you so much!” said Cylinder Sam. Danny replied No problem, I’ll take you back to my house.” Cylinder Sam replied “okay.” So Danny and Cylinder Sam worked and worked until 5:00, then they decided to go home. When they got to the house, Debby already had their supper ready. Danny asked Cylinder Sam what he would like to eat. Cylinder Sam replied, “ I would like pizza, it is my favorite!” So Danny ordered Cylinder Sam a small pizza, and he ate the whole thing. Danny got him a cardboard box to sleep in.

The next day, Tuesday, was delivery day. One of their customers, Eric, who owned a jewelry store planned to meet them. He was very crafty and decided to rob them because he owed money to the IRS. As they were approaching a stop sign, they noticed someone had broken down and they saw Eric had captured Debby and was holding her hostage! He demanded that they hand over the diamonds or he would hurt Debby. As they thought about what to do, Cylinder Sam charged at Eric with his stinger. Eric quickly started his car and they chased him. Eric took a sharp turn to the left Derek followed and Cylinder Sam was right behind them. Eric made a sharp U-turn, but spun out as Cylinder Sam hovered over him. Cylinder Sam noticed Eric was trying to get away so, he stung Eric in the hand and he had an allergic reaction and his hand swelled up. Derek called the police and untied Debby. Cylinder Sam was rewarded with all the pizza he could eat! Cylinder Sam’s shapes are a sphere, cylinder, and a cone. Cylinder Sam has geometric challenges because he cant fit in tight places.

The life of Styrosphere

My geometric bugs name is Styrosphere, which is a stink bug found in Africa because of its warm climate. My bugs bodies made of a Styrofoam sphere, angular straws for legs and oval made of cardboard. Its stinger is a cone. The spherical shape makes it hard to catch and eat because its not long and skinny like a worm. The short angular legs make it slow so it can’t run fast from its predator. Its predators are mainly birds with big mouths. It lives in tall grassy areas to protect itself .if it caught by a bird it had a stinger like thing that sprays out a smell that birds don’t like. If it is dropped by a bird its sphere like shape helps it to roll when it hits the ground so it can hide quickly To catch its prey it spits acid out of its mouth to paralyze its prey then sucks its insides out

One day while walking slowly through the grassy plains of Africa Styrospere got hungry. He saw a chigger and came up behind it, spit acid on it then sucked its insides out. After eating his meal, a bird swooped down from behind him and caught him in its mouth. Styrosphere sprayed his odor into the air. The bird did not like this and spit him out He hit the ground and rolled to safety in the high grass. The question is “Will he get away next time.

“A Day in the Life of My Geometry Bug”

Spherey the ant lives in garden with very bright colors. All the plants in the garden were very bright, even the insects. She was looking for some food one day and she couldn’t figure out what she eats. So she went to her parents and asked them “What do you eat?” and they said “We eat: candy, chocolate, and anything covered in chocolate.” She decided to go find some of these foods, so she tried to fit under the fence o0f the garden and she couldn’t fit. The problem was she had one different shape that was bigger than the others. She had two spheres, and a cone shaped body. She couldn’t fit because the cone shaped part would not fit through the space. She decided to go ask her parents what she should do. They said, “You should go to the side of the fence not the front.” So she got through and went to look for some food. She came up on a fly and they started talking. The fly asked, “Why are you on the ground and not flying”. The ant said, “I can’t fly.” The fly was surprised then the fly asked, “Why is your body shaped so funny”? Then the ant explained, “Well, the things on my head are used for like sensors, the middle part of my body is used for holding the rest of my body parts together, and the back part of me is where everything I need to done my body is done.” Then the fly said, “Well where are you headed?” the ant said, “I’m looking for some food”. The fly said, “Well go down the road about a mile and then make a right at the light then make another right at the nest stop sign and then go about thirty feet then s you should be at the park where you can find some food”. The ant said, “Well where should I go to go look for some food?” The fly said, “You need to go to the picnic area duh!” The ant said, “Well ok but I don’t think I will find any food there”. The fly said well go to the picnic area and go to the tree and you should find a caterpillar there and he will tell you what to do”. The ant did that and he found the caterpillar and he said well do you see that family over there go and take there food while they are gone”. The ant did just that and then thanked the caterpillar and left. She went home and told her parent about the adventure she had and who she met and she enjoyed her chocolate.

And that is a day in the life of my geometry bug!

Well, a day in my world

Me well I’m a bug. A bug that is very colorful and well colorful. First, my name is Cindy Trap Cylinder the Cyclops. I have one eye that is right in the middle of my head, which is circular, and colorful wings that are speckled with glitter. The glitter is for making my predators blind, for a moment, so I can get away, but that can serve a problem to. What I do is at least try and fight off predators from my family and the flowers and field s of our home.

One day when I was a t camp we were flying around on night watch (to look out for predators) and we saw something moving in the tree and we of coarse went over to investigate and got a surprise. What we saw was a huge thing it was like a monster so we tried to kill it. This is where my glitter got me in trouble. While my friend and I were fighting it I tried to get behind it and kill it that way. But then it had to see me because I didn’t know it had eyes in the back of its head. You know like your mom does of teachers especially. But any way I also didn’t know that it had four arms this is when my eye and antenna come into play my eye can see things in the dark even better than in the daylight and my antenna they can send radio messages or they can turn into electric bombs/arrows/swords. But he problem was he kept seeing me because I had glitter on me and I kept on sparkling. Well I used these things to defeat this thing with four arms and four eyes. My friend and I were not hurt at all. Accept for being shook-up pretty bad because of the shock of being attacked.

My Bug “ Bently”

I’m going to talk about a little bug named Bently that is octagon shaped, and meets a friend, Arnold, and they see how long their strong friendship lasts, or does it end!

The reason I called my bug Bently, is well, it’s a cool name, and the other reason is that his body is octagon shaped, and he crawls around everyday, and all- day long until: 6 am to 10 pm at night. Bently, goes every morning until night to find food. Bently, is a very lonely creature because his mom and dad left him when he was 4 years old, and no- one likes him at all to be their friend because he is octagon shaped. Bently lives in tree holes, or underground. Bently eats little crawling animals like: ants. One day, Bently was walking through the woods looking for food, and found a little bug, named Arnold. Arnold, was a little ant, that no- one liked him either, or to be his friend. So, then they started talking for a while, and they had everything in common like: rolling down the hill, eating ice cream, swimming through the pond. One day, they met out to go to McDonalds to eat lunch, they both got a Happy Meal, and they each got a little super hero toy. While, they were almost done eating, Arnold, started to get hungry for a ice cream at Dairy Queen. So, they went , and they both got a chocolate dipped vanilla cone. Then, after Arnold was done eating, and Bently was still hungry for dessert, and Arnold was asking why? Then Bently said, cause I waned to eat you for last, because you were a little ant, which I eat everyday. Then, Finally, Bently lived Happily Ever After by himself forever eating ants.

I talked about a strong relationship that ended, and, but they did enjoy it, but it was never enough!

The Life of a Geometry Bug

My bug’s name is sally cylinder, and she lives in Arizona on a farm, and her house was in a tree. Her parents raised her until she was 10 years old, and she has 2 sisters and 1 brother, and after they were all long enough, then, her parents went to Texas. The only thing they told her was that she was supposed to eat fireflies because in Arizona fireflies are dangerous to people so their job as a cylinder bug was important. Then later she found out that she could change colors to match any surrounding to protect herself from other animals that might eat her because she is small.

Her body looks like a cylinder and she cannot see very well so she has antenna to help her sense food and other things better. She can also fly and crawl but she can fly really fast. Her face is looks like a sphere, and her legs look like little cylinders and her feet are round but her feet are very light so that she can fly faster and easier. Then one day she went out to catch some fireflies like her parents had told her and the sun was really round and bright, and there was none there so she went to every pond around where she lived and she found some, and then she found out that she has super fast powers so then she went home and told her brothers and sisters and so then they had races to see who was the fastest. But they she found out later that she could run and fly so fast because there was a super ball thing inside of her that looked like a sphere and that was what made her run so fast. So her life was sort of complicated for the first years, that her parents left her and her brothers and sisters alone and she was nervous because her job was so important she didn’t want to mess up and but it got better and they began to have fun with chasing their food and being a bug.
